Portable or installed solar for EcoFlow buyers: choose the workflow first
A decision framework for temporary panels, fixed installations and buyer requests that should be referred to an installer.

Separate mobility from permanent exposure
A portable panel can be useful where the owner packs equipment away between uses. A fixed installation introduces different mounting, weather, routing and maintenance requirements. Do not assume a folding panel is a permanent roof product, or that a rigid panel can be placed anywhere without a designed support system.
Document constraints before comparing prices
Ask who owns the site, whether mounting is permitted, how shade moves and where the station will be located. Capture the intended cable distance and access for inspection. Those questions determine whether the request is a simple portable kit or an installation project that requires a qualified designer.
Keep the quote within its professional boundary
A product supplier can identify references and proposed components, but should not invent structural or electrical approval. For an installed array, obtain a site-specific design and confirm local requirements with the responsible professional. State which installation services and mounting components are excluded from a hardware quotation.
- Identify the person responsible for installation.
- Require exact component compatibility.
- Do not assume regional approvals transfer between markets.

Can the same buying checklist cover every solar setup?+
The initial site questions can be shared, but portable and permanent systems require different evidence. Installation design, mounting and local approvals cannot be replaced by a generic retail checklist.
